There have been at least 53 school shootings in the United States so far this year, as of September 19. Sixteen of those were on college campuses and the remaining 37 were on K-12 school grounds. The incidents have left at least 27 people dead and more than 56 injured. Last year was one of the deadliest years for school shootings since these figures have been tracked. Students and educators have engaged in activism around the issue of gun violence, and some educators have quit the profession. Where will it end?
